The Tolstoy Foundation Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Inc., founded by humanitarian Alexandra Tolstoy, daughter of the famous author Leo Tolstoy, and her esteemed colleague, Tatiana Schaufuss, to minister to the needs of Russian and other Slavic-speaking people.
We are a certified not-for-profit (501-C3), 96 bed skilled nursing community, located in the hillside of Rockland County’s hamlet of Valley Cottage, NY. Our service area includes Rockland, Bergen, Orange and Westchester Counties. TFRNC is an easy 40-minute drive from Manhattan and Fairfield Counties.
Our community offers a warm and homelike environment with bright and spacious rooms looking out onto landscaped grounds, fruit trees and nature’s wildlife.
The interdisciplinary team of caregivers provides a resident-centered approach with emphasis on meeting physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs, thus ensuring the highest attainable quality of life for each individual. We encourage our residents to maintain independence within their functional abilities and we provide the support necessary to help them achieve their goals.
By striving for excellence through continuous improvement, we make every effort to maintain and nurture a home-like, caring, safe and clean environment, through individualized services which respect each resident’s right to self-determination.
The Board of Directors, Administrators and Staff of Tolstoy Foundation Rehabilitation and Nursing Center are committed to provide our residents/patients with the highest quality of health and personal care services, at reasonable and cost-effective rates.
