Testimonials

Dear Dorothy:

I am writing on behalf of the family of my father, who was a patient at Tolstoy from June 6 to July 26, when he sadly passed away. We cannot say enough about the excellent care he received during this time from everyone who attended to him in some capacity. Since we were there every day, we witnessed the sincere compassion and many kindnesses extended to him and to us by the nurses, aides, therapists, doctors and other staff members first-hand. Any time we asked for anything or had a question, it was addressed immediately, cheerfully and efficiently. No one wants to place a loved one in a nursing facility, but since we had no other options, we were happy that we made Tolstoy Foundation our choice. God bless you all as you continue to administer to those in your care. Thank you.

Dear Dorothy,

Yesterday, my sister Rosemary (Fenton) Stokes and I visited a Resident at TFRNC. Upon arrival, we found her sitting primly in her chair, with a smile on her face, looking out the window. After a minute of though, she recognized Rosemary, reached out her hand and said: “Rosie, what a nice surprise!” We were both thrilled! She took us to her room where we reviewed all her family pictures and cards and reminisced as best as she was able to do. Throughout our time with her, she kept telling us what a nice place she was staying at and how good everyone is to her. No complaints, joust joy. The same attitude she has had all her life… as an RN, as a mother, as a friend, as an “always ready to help a neighbor”… remains with her today. I want to congratulate you and the staff for your excellent care of her. We came unannounced and found her “ready for company”. She deserves the best and is getting it!

Dear Dorothy:

I wanted to take this time to to thank you for all the caring, kindness and help throughout my mother’s, and my children’s grandmother’s stay at Tolstoy Nursing Home for the past 12+ years. I’m very grateful for the care she received and for the constant nurturing that was shown her. My family and I have accepted this great loss and are moving on with our lives. My mom was a constant in my life; even when she was unable to speak with me or look at me but, I knew in my heart, she knew I was there, and was with us as long as she was, thanks in-part to your amazing staff.

Please pass on my “thanks” to the whole staff (nurses, nurse’s aides, doctors, therapists, etc.) for their thoughtfulness during my time of mourning, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Dottie,

Thank you so much for being so kind to me. Everybody is great there from all departments.

Thanks again!

To Everyone on the 2nd floor:

Because you’ve been so very nice, it’s difficult to say – How much appreciation is in this card today,
so this is meant to tell you “thanks” and then to tell you, too, the world would be much nicer if more people were like you!

Thank you all

Dear Dorothy:

On behalf of our entire family, thank you for the Mass card in dad’s honor. We will never forget the wonderful treatment dad received at Tolstoy. You and your entire staff could not have done more to make him as comfortable as possible in his last days. Thank you again.

Dear Dorothy:

Just a short note to thank you and your excellent staff for your kindness and consideration in helping us celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary. God bless you and thank you.
This is to record our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Tolstoy Foundation Nursing Home in Valley Cottage, NY.
We were visiting our father who was admitted there, and during the several occasions we were in this place, we were really impressed by the way the Residents were treated and looked after. Everything was done professionally, and with understanding and love and with a lot of patience.
This was not just in the case of our father, but with all the other Residents we happened to see around us during our visits.
Another fact which touched us was the cleanliness of the entire premises. Unlike other places we have visited in various places, this facility gets full marks in regard to cleanliness and the absence of any foul odor.
We were commenting among ourselves that our father probably would not have received such good attention and care in our own home.
Thank you for all your dedicated and efficient staff. We pray that this always continues.
May God bless each one of you and your families and this excellent nursing home, and reward you for all that you do.
Thank you once again.

Remani Mathew and Mathew Joseph on behalf of the entire family.
